Estimated output by hour
Tap a bar to show that hour in the picture. For hours that have passed, the dark mark is the estimate updated with satellite sunshine data from the web. It is not a reading from the panels.

What the estimate is worth
How the estimate works
- Setup: 3 × 465 W panels on a ground frame tilted at 32°, facing south (180°), into an 800 W plug-in inverter.
- Sunlight forecast from Open-Meteo for the panels' exact angle, refreshed each time the page opens.
- Assumes 80% system efficiency. Output can never exceed the inverter's 800 W.
- Each hour is the average power over that hour. These are estimates, roughly ±20–30%, until checked against real panel readings.
- Once an hour has passed, its estimate is updated using sunshine measured by weather satellites (Open-Meteo, usually 20 minutes to 2 hours behind). It is still an estimate from web data, not a reading from the panels or inverter.
- For hours that have passed, the picture and weather words also follow the satellite: how clear the sky was and how much sunshine came straight from the sun. Rain and temperature still come from the weather model, as satellites can't measure them.
- In the picture, blue light is power from the panels to the inverter and green is power going into the house.
